RGB, THE COLORS OF THE CENTURY

Join us and celebrate the centenary of Carlos Cruz-Diez's birth and a century of invention, colors and transmission!

"In the year 2023, and to celebrate the centenary of the artist's birth, the Centre Pompidou and the Musée national d'art moderne are pleased and proud to bring their full sponsorship to this exhibition project with the colors of the present."

Laurent Le Bon, President of the Centre Pompidou

In collaboration with the Centre Pompidou, the Cruz-Diez family presents the exhibition: RGB, the Colors of the Century, and makes it available to institutions all around the world.

Since the beginning of the 1980s, Cruz-Diez has developed projects of exhibitions of ephemeral works with a pedagogical, interactive and itinerant background, with the intent of bringing the public closer to his works. By adapting the techniques of image reproduction and dematerialization of the supports, the artist experimented with the technologies of his time to transmit his ideas to the greatest number of people in the interest of lessening the impact of the financial and logistical conventions of traditional exhibitions.

"Every art exhibition is, in principle, an ephemeral event. (...) That is why I have structured a sampling of ephemeral works, with the aim of underlining the temporary fact that the realization of an exhibition means. In the end, as in a concert, what remains is the memory of the dialectical experiences and perhaps an evocative catalog."

Carlos Cruz-Diez, Paris, 1999
